FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: free-running clutch has inner and outer races and wedging bodies interposed between them. The wedging members are made up as flexible rods inclined to a normal to the race. One ends of the rods are fixed inside one of the races. The other ends are in a contact with the surface of the other race. The ends of the flexible rods that are in a contact with the race are drawn with a radius that is equal to the radius of the surface of the race. The angle of inclination of the axes of the rods to a normal to the surface of the races in the zone of their contact does not exceed the friction angle. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 1 dwg
