FIELD: in the course of studies of properties of plane-aperture antennas. SUBSTANCE: training appliance has a radiator in the form of a rectangular horn, electromagnetic lens, mask replacement device, replaceable masks, rotary rack 7 and analyzer consisting of a receiving horn, detector and receiving horn holder, all arranged in succession on the base of a radio-frequency oscillator. Each replaceable mask represents a metal plate with a hole, whose shape and dimension corresponds to the shape and dimension of the aperture of the antenna being simulated. For simulation of shading of part of antenna aperture a metal element is placed within the mask hole; the shape of the metal element corresponds to the shape of projection of the structure shading elements onto the antenna aperture. A system of parallel metal partitions is installed behind the mask hole, when it is necessary to simulate polarization characteristics. EFFECT: demonstration of influence of the shape and dimension of aperture and its shading on the antenna directivity pattern, polarization characteristics. 2 cl, 3 dwg
