FIELD: plasma technologies; detoxification of gas outbursts. SUBSTANCE: invention may find use in mechanical engineering when developing engines in order to protect environment from hazardous outbursts, and also in systems of gas purification in environmentally harmful production. Method is based on manufacturing catalytic layer consisting of modified alumina on carrier surface and is distinguished with that catalytic layer is applied by plasma spray technique, and, as starting material, catalytically inactive composition is used containing aluminium metal powder, aluminium hydroxide, and easily decomposable compounds of V-VII group metals, yttrium, and lanthanides. Catalytically active composition based on amorphous aluminium oxide, gamma-modification of aluminium, V-VII group metal, yttrium, and lanthanide oxides is prepared in-situ directly in plasma jet under predetermined temperature-speed spray parameters and predetermined plasma-forming gas makeup. Obtained carrier is crimped and cellular structure of catalytic block is formed. EFFECT: enhanced process of detoxification of gas outbursts.
