FIELD: machine-tool industry. SUBSTANCE: spindle 4 is mounted inside housing 1 of the spindle unit for permitting rotation in radial bearings 8 and thrust bearings 6. The spindle is provided with safe-guarding ball bearings 2 and 3 that are rigidly mounted on spindle 4 and freely mounted in housing 1 with axial spaced relations. Housing 1 and spindle 4 are made of a high- damping material. The drive is made up as winding 9, which is rigidly secured to spindle 4 and connected with the collector, and permanent magnets mounted inside the housing. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 1 dwg
