SOIL FERTILITY EVALUATION METHOD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2080771 C1

FIELD: agriculture and forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking samples of concrete soils; determining content of physical clay and actual parameters of fertility properties to be evaluated by physical and chemical analysis, with fertility properties including pH, humus content, content of macro and microelements, soil depth. Soil containing 20-50% of physical clay is taken as standard soil. Parameters corresponding to potential fertility of soil are set for evaluation properties of standard soil. Method further involves plotting evaluation scale, in which, relative to standard soil to which highest point is given, points are set for soils having clay content different from that of standard soil; introducing parameters of potential fertility of standard soil into scale and optimum parameters of evaluation properties of soil fertility, having concrete number of points in terms of evaluation scale; setting point, corresponding to actual parameter of each evaluation property of fertility of concrete soil and to optimum parameters of each evaluation property of fertility of soil having certain number of points, on single evaluation base calculated by formula: y = K [1 - (1 - ], where y is soil fertility point; x is actual parameter of main property of soil fertility; a is optimum parameter of the same property of standard soil fertility corresponding to potential fertility of soil; K is value of evaluation scale in points; determining property limiting soil fertility and preliminary point of soil fertility by minimum point of the number of evaluation properties of soil fertility; determining final point of concrete soil fertility. EFFECT: increased efficiency by high precision method of evaluating soil fertility. 1 tbl
