SUBSTANCE: method involves soil sampling for physical and chemical assaying for content of clay and soil fertility characteristics such as pH, content of available phosphorus, available potassium, available magnesium and available trace nutrients such as B, Mn, Mo, Cu, Zn, Co, etc. Scores for fertility characteristics are calculated from a scale with the highest score for reference soil using an equation presented in the description. Scores for actual fertility characteristics are determined from the scale, and the smallest score is a limiting characteristic for preliminary evaluation of fertility of this or that soil. Each characteristic is quantitatively assessed by difference between the prescribed and actual parameters needed for improving the value of this characteristic to a desired score.
