FIELD: grinding equipment for mining, civil engineering and other industries. SUBSTANCE: maximum productivity of self-grinding mill at optimal characteristics of driving synchronous electric motor achieved due to higher regulation accuracy when measured are values of electric characteristics of mill motor operation together with measurement of mill filling with material. Calculated are derivatives of power consumed by motor according to value of mill filling and measured is delivery of material fed to mill proportionally to value of derivative towards increasing at positive value of derivative and towards reducing at negative value of derivative. Maintained is maximal value of power factor of synchronous driving motor of mill by changing excitation current depending on results of comparing of measured values.
