FIELD: steaming and milling of wood chips. SUBSTANCE: unit has transportation means and wood chip guide. Transportation means is made in form of screw conveyer installed for rotation inside horizontal steaming chamber above inlet for wood chips supply along its entire length. Wood chip guide is made in form of bent plate whose one end is secured to bottom plate of horizontal steaming chamber, and the other end is directed upward to transportation means and located against outlet for discharge of wood chips.
