METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF RUBBER-CORD ENVELOPES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: rubber industry; manufacture of drive couplings. SUBSTANCE: method comes to assembling carcass band of rubber cord layers and bead rings, placing breaker blank made of layers placed one on the other onto carcass band, rolling down the blank, placing outer rubber layer and finishing envelope assembling with subsequent vulcanization. Breaker layers are of equal width and are displaced from central axis of symmetry through equal distances, forming steps. Width of steps in two neighboring layers is selected within 0.08 and 0.25 of breaker layer width. Width of breaker is chosen not to exceed 0.35 of inner perimeter of envelope. Odd layers of breaker can be displaced from central axis of symmetry to the left, and even layers, to the right, layers of breaker can be grouped in pairs and neighboring pairs can be displaced in opposite directions from central axis of symmetry of breaker.
