METHOD OF ASSEMBLY OF RUBBER-CORD CASINGS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: production of rubber-cord casings; particular, manufacture of highly flexible couplings as flexible members. SUBSTANCE: placed on assembly drum are bead bands, cord layers are turned and bead is worked, then, rubber-cord band and subsequent covering layers are laid-on, and casing is transferred for further treatment. Rubber-cord band is made with meridian location of cord threads and laid between edges of layers of cord threads bent onto wing, and layers of cord threads turned to under wing. Lower edge of rubber-cord band is located at the level of bead and deviation of threads of cord and rubber-cord band to both sides from meridian direction is within 10 deg. Rubber-cord band is laid from bead to bead over perimeter of casing, between the last layer of carcass and cover layer. Rubber-cord band is made of textile cord and metal cord.
