FIELD: potable water treatment practice. SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises steps of aerating, ozonizing and filtering incoming water to purify it from organic, elementoorganic, inorganic and microbiological contaminants. Inventive novelty of proposed method resides in fact that water aeration treatment is carried out before and after ozonization step, particles recovered during aeration and ozonization steps are aggregated to form coarse-grain particles, followed by separating latter from water being purified and by filtering water. Proposed apparatus comprises collecting reservoir 1 made in form of shell 2 with cover 3. Reservoir 1 accommodates air and ozone supply unit 14, unit 4 for supplying water to be purified, degassing unit 7, unit 9 for discharge of aerated and ozonized water and coarse-grain particles, adhesion unit 17, and purified water collecting chamber 21 housing filtering unit 22. Collecting reservoir 1 is sealingly connected to purified water collecting chamber 21. Unit 9 for discharge of aerated and ozonized water and coarse-grain particles is connected to adhesion unit 17 which, in turn, is connected to filtering unit 22. Degassing unit 7 is arranged in collecting reservoir 1 above water to be purified level, while adhesion unit 17 is arranged below collecting reservoir 1 and above purified water level inside purified water collecting chamber 21.
