FIELD: production of glass beads for use in various industries, including chemical industry, production of building materials, mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is inventively novel in that middlings, i. e. precursor material for producing glass beads, are subjected to heat treatment on movable ceramic substrate by flameless infrared gaseous radiator which does not blow off glass beads produced by gas-air flow. EFFECT: improved heat treatment procedure offers two advantages: higher process output and possibility to produce glass beads having 1-4 mm in diameter and suitable for use in mills using glass beads as working medium. 2 cl, 1 dwg
