FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of cellulose and its derivatives, namely, to a method of production of microcrystalline cellulose used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other branches of industry. Method involves a liquid hydrolysis of parent cellulose in acid solutions, dehydration, neutralization, product drying for two stages. On the first stage drying is carried out to moisture 30% by contact with heated surface; on the second stage product is dried to moisture 5% acting on a wetted product with gaseous and heated to 120-180 C drying agent using its kinetic energy which is used further for separation of a ready product and treatment of a spent heat-carrier from a solid phase. Separation of cellulose is carried out by step-by-step decrease of a drying agent rate from 12.0 m/s to 1.5 m/s. Invention provides the acceleration of moisture removal from microcrystalline cellulose and production of end product of required dispersion composition. EFFECT: improved method of production, enhanced output of process. 1 tbl, 1 ex
