FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: combined flux contains (in weight parts): chamotte, 30-40; swelled vermiculite, 30-40; potassium chloride, 20-45; and borax, 5- 10. Such composition provides heat resistance of flux up to 1150-1180 C giving rise to reducing content of heavy nonferrous metal oxides in furnace atmosphere to 0.40-0.43 mg/cu.m and metal content in slag to 27-28%, whereas loss of alloying elements constitutes 1.6-2.8% of their content in flux composition. In addition, owing to considerable decrease in heat radiation loss caused by integrity of coverage, smelting time and power consumption are reduced. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 1 tbl
