FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: flux for melting copper alloys, preferably chromic bronzes, contains calcium fluoride, sodium fluoride and melted sodium borates with the following ratio of components, % by weight: melted sodium borates 30-60; calcium fluoride 12-41; sodium fluoride the balance. Sodium oxide-borate oxide ratio in sodium borates is 0.22-0.45 and sodium fluoride-calcium fluoride ratio is 0.7-2.3. Flux efficiently absorbs chromium oxides, which results in reduced metal loss in the process of melting. EFFECT: increased element assimilation extent and reduced metal loss in the process of melting. 1 tbl
