FIELD: sorption of unwanted in container. SUBSTANCE: method involves stages of grinding alloy Ba1-xAxLi4-yBy to fragment size smaller than 5 mm in vacuum or in inert gas atmosphere followed by placing ground alloy in container. Gas is sorbed when ground alloy is acted upon by residual gas in container at temperature below 150 C. Metal A is chosen from group composed of elements of subgroup IIa of the Mendeleyev's periodic system except for barium. Metal B is chosen from group B composed of subgroup IIIa of periodic system elements and magnesium. Preference should be given to 0 ≅ x ≅ 0,5, and 0 ≅ y ≅ 3,5..
