FIELD: medicine, biochemistry, immunochemistry. SUBSTANCE: alcoholic precipitate IV-1 (obtained by Cohn's method) is precipitated with 16% polyethylene glycol (molecular mass is 4000-6000 Da) and component C4 of complement is isolated from the formed precipitate by methods of ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-Toyopearl and gel-filtration on Sephacryl S-200. Component C4 can be used for diagnosis of diseases associated with complement system activation. EFFECT: simplified method, decreased cost. 1 dwg
