FIELD: manufacture of small arms ammunition intended for firing against light-armored targets, in particular, armor-piercing bullets. SUBSTANCE: after pressing-in the slug with jacket in envelope, the envelope head portion is sized with simultaneous thinning its wall in area of fitting the envelope cut to slug; envelope wall metal flows in gap between die and slug serving as working tool, where first wall thickening is accomplished (in the process of its pressing-out in the gap), and then stressed-strained state arises close to close compression; at sizing with simultaneous thinning envelope is thinned to less than 0.1 mm. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 dwg
