TRACER BULLET Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: short-range and medium-range firing, in particular, tracer bullets of pistol cartridges. SUBSTANCE: tracer bullet has an envelope and pot of tracer composition which uses taper hole whose larger base faces the bullet tail section. Hole depth makes up, at least, 0.4 of tracer pot height. In particular case, ratio of hole diameters to tracer composition pot diameter is as follows: 0.4 to 0.7, at hole base, not more than 0.3, at hole apex. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of tracing, progressive burning of tracer for increasing the luminous intensity with moving of bullet away from shooter, which of high background illuminance, enhanced psychologic effect. 2 cl, 2 dwg
