FIELD: dust removal equipment, may be used in pneumatic conveyance systems. SUBSTANCE: modulator has rotary drum mounted on shaft. Side wall of drum is provided with air windows. Elliptical sleeve is rigidly fixed on shaft. Springy member secured on drum is biased to outer surface of sleeve for sliding on it. During rotation of drum, extent of biasing of springy member to elliptical surface of sleeve is changed and, as a result, braking force created by springy member is varied so that drum begins to rotate irregularly. By changing angle of shaft, air flow relative time is changed. Springy member may be formed as spring with sliding contact plate, length of resilient tape, or elliptical spring. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 cl, 4 dwg
