BIOPSY OF OVARIAN YELLOW BODY IN CATTLE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: a cow is fixed in a stall, puncture place situated in the middle third of a line connecting external ileal tuber and cutaneous subcaudal fold area should be sheared and disinfected. At testing right ovary left hand should be introduced into the rectum. Pricking is done by the right hand with a needle and mandrel perpendicular to croup surface. Needle is directed deep inside tissues so that it will be possible to find needle end with a finger through a rectal wall, then an ovary is captured by pulling it away caudally and slightly upwards to pelvic cavity where needle end is available. Needle is inserted deeper inside by the right hand, mandrel is removed and yellow body is punctured. At the same time some part of luteal tissue remains in needle space. Needle is taken out and its content is placed into fixative or upon a slide. At conducting biopsy of left ovary puncture is conducted with the left hand, an ovary is fixed with the right hand through the rectum. EFFECT: broader range of objective morphological trials due to increased significance in revealing morphofunctional changes in yellow body tissues in cattle.
