FIELD: production of sorbents. SUBSTANCE: sorbent-catalyst intended to be used to purify air from toxic impurities is prepared by impregnating activated carbon with catalytic additives' solution followed by heat treatment. Method is distinguished with that impregnation solution is ammonia solution containing (in wt %) 8-16 carbonic acid, 10-25 copper cupranate, and 2-5 chromium at carbon to solution ratio 1:(0.5-0.9), and heat treatment is carried out in a "fluidized bed" furnace at 155-190 C. EFFECT: increased dynamic activity of sorbent regarding difficultly sorbing substances of the cyanogen chloride type.
