FIELD: transport engineering; gearbox control mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: device has housing 1 with fitted on control lever 4 coupled with program carrier 6 provided with permanent magnet. Housing 1 accommodates magnet-controlled members 12 whose number is equal to number of transmission ranges. Program carrier is made in form of two carriages 7 and 9. Carriage 7 is installed for movement in guides 8 of housing 1. Carriage 9 is coupled with control lever 4 through ball support 5 and is installed for movement in carriage 7 in guides 10 square to guides 8. Permanent magnet 11 is secured to carriage 9. Permanent magnet is arranged above magnet-controlled members 12. Control lever 4 is secured on housing in ball support 3. Carriage 7 is spring-loaded relative to housing 1, thus being held in middle position. Carriage 9 is provided with detents holding it in extreme and middle positions relative to carriage 7.
