PROCESS FOR PREPARING 1-CYANO-2-IMINOCYCLOPENTANE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: main organic synthesis, more particularly preparation of drugs, and other types of organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: of 1-cyano-2-iminocyclopentane is accomplished by cyalization of adipodinitrite in the presence of alkali catalyst and gas containing no oxygen at elevated temperature and atmospheric pressure to isolate the desired product by crystallization. The alkali catalyst is potassium hydroxide on carrier, and process is carried out in gas phase in the presence of ammonia at catalyst to adipodinitrile or mixture of adiponitrile and mother liquor to ammonia volumetric ratio of 1: 711-1850:6.3-46.2 at 245-340 C followed by condensation of vapor-gas mixture and desorption of ammonia.
