FIELD: metallurgy of nonferrous metals, particular, electrolytic production of aluminum, design of anode shell of aluminum electrolyzer with upper current lead and self-baking anode. SUBSTANCE: the offered anode shell includes rectangular framework with longitudinal and end face walls and horizontal stiffening members. Stiffening members are made in form of closed rigid load-carrying frame of box section located along perimeter of framework in its upper part. Load-carrying frame equals 0.35-0.6 and width equals 0.1-0.3 of the height of framework walls. EFFECT: reduced labor input in anode servicing. 6 cl, 4 dwg
