FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, electrolytic production of aluminum. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to replacement of structural units of aluminum electrolyzers. After dismantling of anode arrangement of switched off electrolyzer cathode arrangement of electrolyzer preceding by flow of current is dismantled and replaced with new one with usage of temporary bypass bus ducts connected to packages of buses of cathode arrangement of switched off electrolyzer. Cathode leads are changed over in turn from buses of cathode arrangement of electrolyzer preceding by flow of current to flexible packages welded to temporary bypass bus ducts. Installed shunting fuses and packages of buses of extant cathode arrangement are dismantled and packages of buses of new cathode arrangement are mounted. Then they are shunted. After installation of new anode arrangement with new anode posts these posts are welded to packages of buses of new cathode arrangement. Anode leads are in turn changed over from temporary bypass bus ducts to packages of flexible bands welded to new buses. Connection units of temporary bypass bus ducts with packages of buses of cathode arrangement of switched off electrolyzer are disassembled and temporary bypass bus ducts are dismantled. EFFECT: exclusion of losses of productivity by electrolyzer series and provision for stability of process of electrolysis in electrolyzers while their bus arrangements are replaced. 4 cl, 31 dwg
