FIELD: rolled stock production, drive units of rolling mills, mainly of bar rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes universal joint assembly whose outer casing is joined with shaft of pinion stand. Inner head of universal joint assembly is joined with spindle; head and casing are mutually joined through intermediate members. Socket portion of outer casing is rigidly mounted inside journal of shaft of pinion stand; inner head is joined with spindle shaft by means of slip joint. Socket portion of outer casing has cone opening in order to provide possibility for moving and changing inclination angle of spindle. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of rolling mill, high accuracy and quality of rolled products, increased useful life period of joint assembly. 2 dwg
