TURBINE FLOWMETER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: instrumentation engineering; measuring flow rates in mains handling gasoline. SUBSTANCE: turbine flowmeter includes housing 1, inlet fairing 4 and outlet fairing 5, impeller 2 mounted on shaft 3 and chamber 6 located in cavity of outlet fairing. Chamber 6 houses supporting bearings 7 of shaft and seals 9. Hollow impeller 2 and shaft 3 are made from nonmagnetic material. They form closed cavity 8 filled with air whose volume is sufficient for neutral buoyancy of impeller and shaft in medium under test. Electromagnet 11 located in cavity of inlet fairing 4 is used for interaction with plate 10 made from magnetic material and mounted on impeller 2. Flowmeter may be provided with axial shift sensor 12 mounted in outlet fairing 5 and connected to electromagnet 11 through current regulator 14. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement. 2 cl, 1 dwg
