FIELD: investigation and analysis of gases with the aid of microwave radiation, molecular spectroscopy of gas and vapor atmospheres, for example, for control of technological processes in situ in reactors. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by action of microwave radiation on investigated gas which frequency F(t) is used to scan spectral lines of absorption of gas with rate dF/dt meeting condition , where ΔFl is halfwidth of spectral line of absorption of gas, Hz, by reception and detection of radiation passed through gas. In agreement with invention duration of period of frequency scanning is chosen at least more than 1/ΔFl for action on gas with microwave radiation and signal U(t) detected after analog-to-digital converter is changed by law , where H[U(t)] is Hilbert transform of signal U(t), H[U(t)] after which Fourier transform of signal μ = dF/dt is conducted.
