FIELD: microbiological industry. SUBSTANCE: method is suitable for determining oxidizable products from microbiological processing of sugars, in particular, sugar hydrolysis and may be applied for determination of simplest microorganisms. Method consists in treating sample with oxidant, incubation for first period of time, determining first value of information parameter, introducing redox system into sample, incubation for the second period of time, and determining second information parameter. From measured values of information parameters, one judges about lower alcohols' content. EFFECT: improved procedure. 8 cl
