FIELD: chemical technology, inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves alkalinization of the parent sewage to pH = 8-10 and its passing through the sorbent. After alkalinization precipitate is separated and niobium hydroxyhydrate applied with bichromate ions is used as sorbent. Method ensures to detoxify sewage from nonferrous metallurgy plants, extract thallium completely for the further utilization and sorbent used by method can be used repeatedly and its producing is simple. Value of complete dynamic exchange capacity of sorbent GPN-X-0.1 at thallium sorption from weak-alkaline industrial sewage is big sufficiently, PDOE = 1.757 mmole/g. Method can be used for thallium sorption from sewage of nonferrous metallurgy plants, rare-earth and heavy nonferrous metals. EFFECT: improved method of thallium extraction.
