FIELD: manufacture of thin-layer cathode luminescent screens. SUBSTANCE: aqueous phosphor suspension is first treated under agitation conditions with ultrasound and unsettled fine particles and washed electrolyte are then separated by centrifugation, the washed phosphor is then treated with aqueous polymeric solution and ultrasound. The suspension is then subjected to repeated cleaning operations to remove coarse particles by gravity settling with the settling time gradually increased to 5-40 minutes and to remove fine particles by repeated centrifugation. The polymer is low molecular weight polymethacrylic acid. The obtained result: reduced interelement illumination brightness from 2.0-25% to 5.5- 6.0%, increased resolving power of screens from 80-100 lin/mm to 140-145 lin/mm. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 6 cl, 2 tbl
