FIELD: electrolytic aluminium production. SUBSTANCE: preparation of carbon-containing dry blend for manufacturing electrodes requires extensive and expensive hopper equipment for treating and storing dry materials separately prior to be mixed. Invention offers preparation method requiring small number of little- size hoppers and includes mixing and sorting operations enabling simple grading control within narrow tolerance ranges. To this end, blend is prepared from oil coke and caked and unbaked electrodes' scrap, which are separately treated to form at least two fractions with predetermined grading of each component. Prepared fractions are combined in mixer and are further separated into at least two fractions of different-grading blend granules. EFFECT: simplified process and reduced cost. 22 cl, 2 dwg
