RAIL HEAD ROLL SURFACE GRINDING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; permanent way maintenance and repair machines. SUBSTANCE: device for grinding roll surface of rail head has tools frame 19, at least one grinding set 18 mounted on tools frame 19 and provided with grinding tape 25 passed over reels 26 and 27 placed one over the other and designed for winding on and off of grinding tape 25. It has also vibration drive 21 to provide movement of grinding set. Device has guide frame 14 connected with chassis frame 2 by means of drive 17 providing vertical displacement of guide frame 14 relative to frame 2 and made with flanged rollers 15 for movement along rails 4 and it has also spring member 28 for pressing grinding tape to surface of rail head installed in lower portion of grinding set under reels 26, 27. Tools frame 19 is installed on horizontal guide rods 20 rigidly coupled with guide frame 14 and arranged longitudinal relative to guide frame 14 and is connected with vibration drive 21 installed on guide frame 14.
