FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method is used for operative control of drilling tool in direction of maximal gradient of mineral formation in investigation of bore-holes. Method implies taking spectra of luminescence of useful minerals and formation of data bank on their base, obtaining spectra of luminescence of drilled rocks during drilling, their identification according to spectra held in data bank. Spectral instrument is installed in bore-hole directly after drilling tool. Radiation Δλ1 of radiation source is directed to wall of drilled bore-hole, and radiation Δλ2 from bore-hole wall is recorded. Drilling direction is controlled according to changing intensity of signal of identified spectrum. EFFECT: high efficiency. 3 cl
