FIELD: recovery of combustible solid radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: crushed radioactive wastes are covered layer-by-layer with powdered exothermic mixture and then fired. Mixture composition is as follows: magnesium powder - 50-80 mass percent; potassium nitrate - 1-5 mass percent; industrial oil - 1-2 mass percent; aluminium powder - ; magnesium alloy - the rest. EFFECT: reduced power requirement and combustion temperature, improved neutralization of exit acid gases.
