FIELD: environmental control; thermal treatment of solid radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing of solid radioactive wastes with metal additives, aluminosilicates, and flux, their briquetting, and sequential conveying through drying and pyrolysis zones, gasification, combustion, melting, and reheating with countercurrent flow of exit gases followed by their afterburning upon conveying through drying and pyrolysis zone, rinsing and cooling, coarse filtration, absorption, preheating before fine filtration, final heating, discharge into atmosphere, delivery of solid phase from afterburner and coarse filter to melting zone, case-hardening of solid product obtained during coarse filtration stage, and its potting in slag melt from reheat zone. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, improved capacity and safety, improved quality of solid product obtained during coarse filtration stage.
