FIELD: recovery of ion- exchange resins. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing radioactive ion- exchange resins with powdered fuel and expanding agent, covering mixture surface with igniting compound layer, blasting air through igniting compound and mixture layer, firing up igniting compound, separating exit gases from slag, mixing them with air, passing gas mixture obtained through slag, and conveying it to gas-cleaning unit. End product obtained in the process is suitable for long-time storage. Device implementing this method has mixer connected in series with grate-incorporating thermal reactor, secondary oxidizer incorporating perforated vessel, and with gas- cleaning unit. EFFECT: improved consolidation factor, quality of end product, safety, reduced power requirement; simplified design and improved safety of device. 4 cl, 1 dwg
