FIELD: metallurgy of ferrous metals; applicable in teeming steel into ingot molds and on continuous casting machines. SUBSTANCE: the offered method consists in supply of uniform annular gas flow in direction of stream of poured metal to blow the perimeter of hole of metal receiver. Protective gas is supplied in form of preliminarily mixed inert gas and fuel gas reacting with oxygen for instance, natural gas, with its fracture in the mixture amounting up to 2-5 vol.%.
