FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: manganese mineral is first mixed with fired dolomite at ratio (CaO+1.4MgO)/Mn 9.5-1.0, whereupon is baked under oxidizing atmosphere to produce mix of manganite-maroquite concentrate which is further mixed with aluminium-silicon-manganese-iron alloy and a binder and briquetted. According to invention, mix of concentrate is baked in oxidizing atmosphere at 920-950 C for 1-2 h and obtained concentrate is cooled in the temperature range 920-680 C with rate 100-120 C/h. Method may be used for deoxidation and alloying of steel with manganese. EFFECT: increased yield of manganese and decreased hygroscopicity of briquets. 2 cl, 3 tbl
