FIELD: metallurgy; oxygen converter production of steel. SUBSTANCE: method includes pouring of liquid iron, addition by portions of manganese-containing and slag-forming materials, treatment of melt with active reducers and carbon-containing materials, blowing of melt with oxygen and neutral gas with change of blast composition in the course of heat, and slag flushing. The first portion of manganese-containing materials in the amount of 10-15% of their total consumption is added after pouring of iron simultaneously with slag-forming materials and active reducers in ratio of 1:(0.5-1.0): (0.10-0.25), respectively. Melt is blown with mixture of neutral gas and oxygen, with content of the latter in mixture of 20-35% during the time equal 5-20% of total duration of blowing. Then, oxygen blowing is continued to consume 50-75% of total amount of oxygen for heat, and slag is flushed. Then, the second portion of manganese-containing material is introduced simultaneously with carbon-containing material in ratio of 1:(0.25-0.75) and melt is blown further with gas mixture having increased content of oxygen up to 35-50%. EFFECT: higher yield of standard metal due to reduction of manganese from manganese-containing materials and decreased consumption of ferroalloy and iron charge.
