FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, briquette which may be used in production of carbon and alloy steel, including low-silicon grade steel.
SUBSTANCE: briquette has thermally processed manganese-containing component in the form of calcined manganese concentrate, reducer formed as aluminum-containing material, flux in the form of mixture of Uralian bauxite, dolomitized lime, calcined lime, and white clay as binder. Components are used in the following ratio, wt%: calcined manganese concentrate 40.0-45.0; Uralian bauxite 7.5-9.0; dolomitized lime 12.0-14.0; calcined lime 15.0-18.0; white clay 3.5-4.5; aluminum-containing material the balance. It is preferable that aluminum-containing material comprises alumina and metal aluminum.
EFFECT: increased desulfating capability and high reducing capability of briquette.
