TRACK BALLAST CLEANING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to track machines for repair and reconditioning of track without removing track skeleton. Proposed ballast cleaning machine includes pushing-type traction power module with feed electric motors and working module with carrying frame resting on front and rear running bogies. Frame carries cabin working speed control device, skeleton lifting device, bar-type taking working member, one screen for cleaning ballast and system of conveyors for handling contaminated ballast, cleaned ballast and litter. Conveyors for contaminated ballast and litter are made for movement in one direction to side opposite to traction power module, and conveyor for transportation of cleaned ballast is made in form of one chute located at screen outlet. Raking working member is provided with induction motor drive, transportation and idle chute and bar chain with scrapers and rippers. Three-sieve ballast cleaning screen is installed in frame for folding in traveling position. Induction motor whose power rating lies within 0.6 and 1.0 of designed value is connected with drive of raking working member through electromagnetic clutch and is provided with current sensor. Working speed control device is coupled with induction motor current sensor, electromagnetic clutch and feed electric motors. Electromagnetic clutch is made with adjustable operating torque and additional working speed control device made in form of manual selector visually coupled with shape of cross section of contaminated ballast on transport chute of bar raking working member and with feed electric motors.

EFFECT: provision of high level of track maintenance during delay period for repair, increased output of ballast good for use, reduced mechanical damage to ballast.
