BALLAST CLEANER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; maintenance and repair of permanent way; devices for cutting out contaminated ballast, cleaning and laying cleaned ballast in track. SUBSTANCE: cleaner has frame resting on running bogies. The following devices are mounted on cleaner frame: working members for taking out ballast at tie end faces, conveyor for preliminary cleaning of ballast whose bottom is formed by extensible bar screen installed for vibration, cleaning device, working member for taking ballast from under track skeleton, litter transportation conveyor coupled with cleaning device, conveyor to deliver ballast to cleaning device and intake hopper for cleaned ballast. Bottom of working member for taking ballast from under track skeleton is made in form of bar screen installed for vibration. Cleaning device is made in form of shaking screen rigidly coupled with upper run of conveyor with endless gauze and box to let out litter connected with rotary conveyor which is rigidly secured on housing of shaking screen and is installed under upper run of conveyor with endless gauze. Conveyor for preliminary cleaning of ballast is installed above conveyor delivering ballast into cleaning device. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities, improved cleaning of ballast. 3 cl, 10 dwg
