FIELD: power supplies for heavy-power lasers and accelerators; converter engineering. SUBSTANCE: switching device has switching circuit set up of series-connected saturable reactor, diode, and reversible dinistor, transformer. Control circuit set up of series- connected thyristor, inductance coil, and first capacitor and connected in parallel with transformer primary winding, demagnetizing circuit incorporating series-connected saturable-reactor demagnetizing coil and current supply, second capacitor one of whose leads is connected to reversible dinistor anode, voltage supply connected in parallel with first capacitor and with its plus lead connected to starting lead of transformer primary winding whose secondary starting lead is connected to reversible dinistor cathode; in addition, it is provided with resistor, two more diodes, and demagnetizing transformer windings; resistor is cut in between finishing lead of transformer secondary winding and second lead of second capacitor; first additional diode is connected in parallel with first capacitor and its cathode is connected to positive pole of voltage supply; second additional diode is connected in parallel to transformer secondary winding and its cathode is connected to starting lead of this winding; demagnetizing transformer winding is series-connected to saturable-reactor demagnetizing winding and to demagnetizing-circuit current supply; transformer is saturable machine and demagnetizing circuit current supply has circuit set up of series-connected inductance coil, thyristor, and capacitor, as well as voltage supply and diode connected in parallel with capacitor; diode cathode is connected to positive pole of voltage supply. EFFECT: reduced power requirement of control circuit and improved operating reliability of switching device due to improved reliability of reversible dinistor. 2 cl, 1 dwg
