METHOD OF EVALUATION OF HORMONAL REGULATION OF PITUITARY-ADRENAL SYSTEM IN ELDER HUMAN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, endocrinology. SUBSTANCE: method of evaluation is based on sexual differences and seasonal alterations of concentration of somatotropin, aldosterone and cortisol. Somatotropin levels were increased in spring in women and men (3.23 ± 0.34 and 1.21 + 0.17 ng/ml, respectively); aldosterone level was increased in summer in women (138.73 + 4.89 pg/ml) but in men - in winter (98.38 + 10.41 pg/ml). Maximal concentration of cortisol in women (641.25 + 27.80 nM) and in men (542.69 + 28.73 nM) is detected in spring and in winter, respectively. Deviation of the stated hormonal indices shows the presence of pathological process. Method can be used in different branches of medicine. EFFECT: increased precision of assay. 2 tbl
