FIELD: adsorbents and catalyst carriers. SUBSTANCE: porous carbon material is provided constituting three- dimensional matrix formed by carbon layers with true density 1.8-2.1 g/cu.cm and structure characteristics: d 002 = 0.340-0.349, La = 4- 18 nm, Lc = 3.5-14 nm. Carbon layers are tape-shaped with width 10000-50000 nm and thickness 30-150 nm. Tapes are joined and branched in nodes and are spatially oriented in the form of three-dimensional lattice with internode distance 80-500 mcm, cell area 8000-200000 sq.mcm and volume density of material 0.01-0.08 g/cu.cm. Tapes, corrugated and tube-shaped, consist of graphite-like carbon monocrystallites oriented toward surface with their end faces. Basal planes of monocrystallites are largely oriented perpendicularly to longitudinal axis of tape and form regular, in direction [001] , regions 1-15 nm in size. EFFECT: new modification of high porous carbon material with regular surface microstructure created. 4 cl, 1 tbl
