FIELD: production of superlight heat-insulating and soundproofing materials on the base of mineral filaments, which may be used in aircraft industry, mechanical engineering, ship building etc. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has spinneret units and filament forming units, filament deposition chamber and netted conveyor positioned below mentioned chamber, device adapted for transforming filaments to suspension state and positioned at inlet end of apparatus, pneumatic head engageable with mentioned device, mat expansion unit provided with system of perforated pipes and positioned below conveyor, feeding high-speed conveyor with suction chamber and branch pipe positioned below conveyor. Apparatus is further provided with filament forming units, binder applying unit and thermal treatment chamber. Device for transformation of filaments to suspension state has high-speed shaft with radial removable spokes. Ratio of diameter defined by spokes ends and diameter of shaft is 10-2.0. Mat expansion unit has baffles positioned in opposed relation to pipes whose perforations are directed toward baffles. Suction chamber has inner perforated wall, which extends diagonally between opposed corners of chamber to divide it into lower and upper parts. Branch pipe is positioned on end wall of lower part. Ratio of total area of perforations in inner wall and branch pipe section area is 0.7-1.3. Filament deposition chamber has inlet binder injection branch pipe.
