FIELD: testing, inspection of quality of welds of heating pipes and tanks filled with ammonia. SUBSTANCE: filtering paper wetted in indicating solution is applied on inspected section of welds of heating pipes or tanks to detect leaks of ammonia. 3 ) solution CoCl₂•6H₂O is chosen as indicating solution. Point of leak is found by appearance of spots or dots having color from blue to dark violet, almost black, depending on amount of coming ammonia.
