FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: indicator element comprises a substrate, an indicator and a white absorbent material attached to the substrate, and the indicator is made of finely dispersed dye which is soluble in liquid hydrocarbon fuel but insoluble in water, and is placed between the substrate and the white absorbent material, wherein the substrate is a waterproof opaque film with a sticky layer.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and rapidness of determining leakage of liquid hydrocarbon fuel and accuracy of locating the leakage point on the surface of equipment and fittings.
